Equinix of San Jose,

Internet Bandwidth
The Equinix
of San Jose, California has two
locations: one at 11 Great
Oaks Boulevard, and the other
at 1725 Lunday Avenue, San Jose,
California. The location at 11 Great
Oaks Boulevard is a much more
connected location then the
other San Jose Equinix
location. Equinix has
an extensive list of Internet
and Telco networks at this
location. If you are looking
at peering, this is a good
site. Some of the
Tier 1 networks that are located
at this location are AT&T,
China Telecom, Level 3,
Comcast, Sprint, MCI, just
to name a few.
In our research, the San
Jose Equinix has a
tendency to charge more,
between $750 to $1200
per month for a full cabinet
with power. They also charge
for cross connect fees
between the provider and
your cabinets or any other
cabinets you want to connect
to. Usually this is around
$150 to $250 per month
. There are a lot of colocation companies that
charge for this, but you can
find other companies that don’t
penalize you for this
expense.
Equinix
does have a well
trained, 24/7 staff, but it
usually takes about two hours
to do a remote hands ticket.
It would be better for
you to have your own Remote
Reboot Power Strip if you
use this facility. They also
charge for their Remote
Hands Service, so keep that
in mind that you will have
another charge of about $125
per month.
If you don’t need a lot of
on-site remote hands
services and budget is not
a consideration, this site is
one of the best sites. The
benefits of the Equinix
Facilities are that some
networks, such as Hurricane
Electric, offer special
rates on Internet bandwidth
transit that can sometimes
offset the cost of the rack
space and power charged by
Equinix.
